Valentine’s Strawberry Hot Chocolate Bombs
Strawberry Hot Chocolate Bombs are also a fun Valentine’s family activity. The kids can totally help with a lot of it – the molds resemble the very popular “pop-it” fidgets they can’t get enough of – and you’ll all enjoy some family bonding time together. If you enjoy these fun drink bombs and are looking for an adult version for your coffee or hot chocolate try these Tiramisu Liqueur Bombs. These are beyond delicious and so fun.

Ingredients:
2 bag light pink candy melts (I used these Wilton Candy ones)
2/3 cup white candy melts
1/4 cup powdered Nesquik strawberry mix
30 mini marshmallows
Valentine’s Sprinkles
Instructions:
Melt the light pink candy melts according to the package directions in the microwave. For the molds, you’ll want to use medium to large size silicone molds that are approximately 2.5″ in diameter. I used these silicone bomb molds.

Add the light pink candy melts to the dome mold and spread with the back of a spoon or a clean paintbrush. Do this in one thin layer to coat, and then place them in the freezer for 10 minutes. Once set, take the mold back out of the freezer and hold the mold up to the light. Re-coat only the spots where you can see through to the mold. If you cannot see through the mold, you do not need to add more. The object is to have the Valentine’s Strawberry Hot Chocolate Bombs be thick enough to stay together, but not so thick that they don’t melt properly when served.
After you add more to any see-through spots, place the mold back in the freezer for another 10 minutes. When set, slowly and delicately pop out each side of the bombs. I find that the best way to do this is to leave them on the counter for a minute and then gently push them through from the bottom. Place your bomb halves on a plate.

Heat a frying pan to low heat. Place one side of the bomb rim down onto the frying pan. This will lightly melt and even out the edges. Quickly add about 2 tablespoons strawberry mix to the bomb and a few marshmallows. Melt the other side of the Strawberry Hot Chocolate Bomb’s rim and then place them evenly on top of the other half.

This will seal your Strawberry Hot Chocolate Bombs together evenly. Do not add hot candy melts to the outside as it will just melt the bomb.
Melt the white candy melts as directed. Drizzle them over the top of the bomb and add Valentine’s sprinkles.

Let the Valentine’s Strawberry Hot Chocolate Bombs dry (I put them in the refrigerator to speed up the process.) To serve, pour hot milk over top of the cocoa bombs and stir to melt the chocolate and release the mix inside.
How do I store Valentine’s Strawberry Hot Chocolate Bombs?
I store mine in the refrigerator because my kitchen tends to be on the warmer side. If yours isn’t, you can store them in a mason jar or other lidded container right in your pantry or kitchen cabinet.
How do I give Strawberry Hot Chocolate Bombs as a gift?
This is the fun part! Any tightly sealed container will do – you can get really pretty Valentine’s-themed containers on Amazon or in your dollar store, and then all you have to do is pop them in, add a nice gift tag and maybe some ribbon, and voila! You’ve got the perfect sweet gift for someone special. Grandparents, friends, neighbors, and even your postman will love them! If you’re looking for a more rustic feel, use mason jars and decorate with some ribbons. Just make sure that you put them in a solid container so that they don’t get squished while being transported. Valentine’s Strawberry Hot Chocolate Bombs are delicate.
How can I vary this recipe?
The recipe can be varied in a few ways. If you can’t find Strawberry Nesquik, you can always use the chocolate kind. The end result will just be regular hot chocolate. You can also use a little bit of sanding sugar to decorate or add a few Valentine-themed M&Ms to the top after you drizzle on the white candy melts.
Tips:
- Making hot chocolate bombs can be a messy project! Don’t wear your favorite clothes, as they may get chocolate on them.
- I also recommend wearing gloves when you work so that you don’t leave melted fingerprints all over the hot chocolate bombs. They will still taste the same but not be nearly as attractive.
- If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again! Hot chocolate bombs are really an art, and the more you make, the better they turn out! Besides, there is no such thing as too many hot chocolate bombs!
So there you have it! My Valentine’s Strawberry Hot Cocoa Bombs recipe. I hope you and your family love them as much as we do. And if you’re still looking for a last-minute gift idea, these little bombs can also be packaged up pretty in a jar with a ribbon around it. (I’m not crafty, so I’m sure someone out there can come up with a cuter way to package them!) These adorable mason jars have the cutest tops and are my faves for gift giving. Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone!
